Brian,
It was a blast racing with you this year! I also remeber your first years of racing as a teenager even though I was only 5 or 6, and you were my hero. You are a great racer, both on and off the track. You are a true sportsman and great to race with. Congratulations on a fantastic year JR!

While I personally think that a stock 600 class would be the way to go, it would instantly eliminate several drivers that won't or can't just switch right away.
Kenny and Mike,
I understand that the stock sleds aren't "stock", however, you may be inclined to know that we have a stock cdi, and we have the stock jetting. Truly , we're fine if there is a mod 600 class. But, the beauty of a stock class is that you don't have to do a lot of work to the sleds. All we have done since the beginning of the season is check things over. We have not replaced anything in the motor or on the sled in general. Kenny, like you said, when you first started, you just bought new sleds every year. I just can't see people getting into the sport and instantly modding their motors and having to keep them fresh and tuned perfect. It would scare just about anybody away. I went to the snowcross races this year and saw polaris stomp on EVERYBODY but Tucker, and it didn't bother me. It's true, we need to do something to make the class grow, but I don't see how this is the fix. Steve Cowing from ski-doo said that they sell way more 600 motors than anyother size. This is why I think a mod 600 class would be unwise. New drivers would now have a stock 600 with 120hp with everyone else having around 150hp.

To be honest, I would love for the calss to grow and have the "Fairness" that seems to be currenty absent. The IWA currently has 15 "full time" pro open drivers. Of these, 8 of them run pro stock. This is 53% of Pro open racers in Pro stock. In snocross, it's about a 100% carry over, of course, they have the sponsorship ans such. But it seems like everybody thinks the addition of this class will grow. SO...not to put pressure on anyone, but I'm sure many already know if they would do it or not.

Which of you is fairly confident that you would build a 600 mod sled? Not I'll think about it, but how many of you would most likely do it? As Derek pointed out, he would be back. I'm only doing pros because Shawn said that we would do it in the pros next year. As I previously stated, I want to see this class grow so that everyone is satisfied with this class.

This does open the can of worms about the "get rid of stock" movement, which I'm sure will be discussed at length again at this years board meeting. Personally, i don't have an issue with the bearings, if there is no foreseeable advantage.

I can see where both sides are coming from here, no it's not "stock", but it is also has no gain apparently
but...
then some consideration should be taken about other "non stock" parts that are made by a manufacturer and are more convienient, but give no advantage to a racer.

1) There would have to be a lot of persuadin to get my dad back on the water, and a sled given to him!
6) I can try, but then I'd have to work against the magnet we have in my sleds that are attracted to the metal we cleverly inserted in the buoys!!
